A One-Stop Food Hub for Wholesale Local Food for Institutions in Iowa
Field to Family makes it easy for wholesale institutional customers to order a diverse selection of products from a variety of producers. We work with early care centers, K-12 schools, retirement communities, colleges, universities, and other institutions. Food procurement specialists can source fresh food locally year round from one streamlined ordering system. Orders get delivered in one trip with one invoice.
We work with our growers to ensure consistent quality for every food hub order—many products are harvested within 24 hours of delivery to preserve their freshness as they make their way to your kitchen.
Everyone deserves access to fresh, locally sourced food from the region. Field to Family is proud to connect the farmers and producers with the chefs and kitchen teams preparing the meals consumed in cafeterias every day.
How to Order
Field to Family partners with local producers to plan wholesale production for the season. We have strong partnerships with many local farmers to meet the demand of wholesale orders.
Step 1:
Watch for the Email Alert
Keep an eye out for an email every Tuesday afternoon. Not on the list? Email orders@fieldtofamily.org to get added.
Step 2:
Place Your Order
We make it easy to order local! For most large orders, we help you preorder the correct quantities to ensure your food will be ready by a set menu date. You can also order weekly from our online platform. Give us a call or send a text or email—we can accommodate the communication method that works best for you!
Step 3:
Receive Your Delivery
We’ll deliver fresh products to your dock or door weekly between Tuesday and Thursday.

Field to Family is seeking experienced local farmers who sell wholesale and not-so-experienced growers offering smaller quantities who are interested in scaling up to meet local demand in our region.
